DIY: coat hooks from the garden

Make beautiful hooks out of branches from your garden

They fit in everywhere, and they’re both handy and amazingly beautiful: these coat hooks made from branches from the garden. Or from the woods, if you’re looking for a good excuse for a nice walk. You can make them easily yourself with this DIY craft project.

What you need:

  • a sturdy branch, not too thin, with side branches;

  • a saw;
  • a drill;
  • a screwdriver;
  • screws and rawlplugs;
  • A bare, dull wall.

Step 1

Saw the side branch back to some three centimetres from the main branch. Then saw a piece off the main branch where the side branch is attached. Make the piece as long as the planned height of the hook.

Step 2

Saw this piece in half lengthways, preferably in roughly equal halves. Repeat step 1 and 2 if you want more hooks.

Step 3

Drill holes at the top and bottom of the coat hook.

Step 4

Drill holes in the bare, dull wall, insert raw plugs and screw these chunks of nature to your wall. Good work!
