Photinia

A shiny specimen

A day in the life of the Photinia begins early in the morning when they begin to shine. In fact, the Greek name translates to mean 'shiny' and it's with very good reason. . The name refers to the autumnal sparkle of their leaves as the colour gradually turns to a rich burgundy in October. It's also known as the Christmas Berry and the ‘Red Robin’ variety can be used as a fast-growing, dense evergreen hedge.
