Pure green: the most beautiful air filters ever

Turn your home into your own natural biotope

In the same way that the rainforests are the lungs of the planet, pure green plants help optimise the climate in your home. So that you feel your best there.

The tropical rainforests are also called the lungs of planet Earth, because the many trees and flowers produce a lot of oxygen. Houseplants like the Pure Green selection work in exactly the same way as those exotic species. They survive through photosynthesis - the conversion of sunlight into energy. The plant uses that to convert carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O) into sugars such as glucose. Oxygen (O2) is thereby released as a waste product. And oxygen is the most essential requirement for human life. Just like we learnt in biology classes!

Things are slightly different at night

Because there’s no sunlight during the night, plants live off the sugars that they have produced during the day. The sugars are thereby converted back to carbon dioxide (CO2) and water (H2O), but this also requires oxygen from the air. This is the same way that people process nutrients, by breathing in oxygen and exhaling CO2. So plants use oxygen and produce CO2 just like us. Luckily plants produce more oxygen than they use on balance. Which makes them excellent companions for us!

Natural air fresheners

Pure green plants not only help ensure more oxygen in your home, but they also remove particulates and other harmful substances from the air through their leaves. These materials are then stored in the plant or the roots, broken down and discharged through the soil. Finally, Pure Green plants help improve the humidity in your home and break down unpleasant odours. This improves the climate in your home, meaning you feel better and have more energy to work, live and exercise.
