A fresh summer salad
You can make this summer salad in no time: it’s tasty and also very photogenic!
This is what you need:
- Lettuce or fresh spinach (from your own garden or from the supermarket)
- Edible nasturtiums, violas or rose petals*
- Herbs of your choice, such as basil, thyme or rosemary
- Feta cheese
- Juice of half a lemon (from your own garden or from supermarket)
- Olive oil
- Pepper and salt to taste
How to make
Wash the lettuce, herbs and flowers. Leave the flowers to drain on kitchen paper to keep them crisp. Make your own dressing or sprinkle the lettuce with olive oil and lemon juice. Add the feta cheese and herbs and finish with the beautifully coloured flowers.
Edible flowers are produced in special way to make them suitable for eating. The plants and (cut) flowers that you can buy in shops are not suitable for human consumption.
