Reclaim your glow with this DIY scrub

Smell, feel and look amazing with this plant-infused homemade body scrub

If the ravages of winter have left your skin feeling as dull as the sky outside then it could be time to peel off those winter layers – and we’re not talking about your chunky knits. Layers of dead skin can build up over winter (when we tend to neglect our bodycare routines in favour of hiding behind forgiving clothes), causing dull, dry, flaky patches.

Body scrubs offer the winning combination of an exfoliant to get rid of the build-up and a moisturising ingredient to rehydrate, leaving you with soft, smooth, glowing skin -just in time for the party season!

We love this flower-infused DIY salt scrub from the Wallflower Girl blog that contains skin-loving jasmine and lavender. Jasmine has long been known for its moisturising properties, while lavender has detoxifying, anti-inflammatory and antisceptic properties – so whatever your skin type, this floral scrub has got it covered.

What you’ll need:

  • 250g / 1 cup rock salt
  • 120ml / ½ cup sweet almond oil
  • 15 drops of Jasmine essential oil
  • 10 drops of Lavender essential oil
  • (optional) 2 tbsp dried lavender buds

How to make it:

1. Pour the salt into your container.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients, seal the container and shake vigorously until everything is well combined.

3. To use, scoop a handful onto wet skin and gently scrub, avoiding contact with the face.

4. Keeps for up to 3 months in an airtight container.
