Japanese for ‘tray landscape’, the bonkei planter is one of our favourite trends in Japan at the moment. The three-dimensional depiction of miniature landscapes creates an edgy yet elegant display. In some cases, whole miniature towns have been created using this idea. Whilst they traditionally include miniature figures of people, animals and natural elements, the Bonkei can be as simplistic or intricate as you want.
