Make the gift of a plant even more personal

And fun to do as well!

You don’t really need a reason to give a plant as a gift but maybe you do have a reason. Perhaps your neighbour looked after your house while you were away, your parents took the children away for the weekend or your best friend’s always there for you. Whatever the reason may be, it’s always nice to give a plant. It’s even nicer if you make the accompanying card special, by personalising it with a trendy Polaroid and a hand-written thank you note.

You will need:

  • The plant you want to give, we chose Skimmia japonica 'Rubella'

  • Scissors

  • A Polaroid camera

  • Card + blank envelope

  • Glue

  • A black brush pen, we chose the white 2.0 mm Pen-Touch from Sakura

Get to work

Take a nice photo of yourself with the plant you want to give. Struggling for inspiration? Hold the plant in front of your face or photograph yourself holding the plant in the air. The possibilities are endless. When you’ve taken your photos, stick the best one on the card and write the message on the card with the white brush pen. A particularly nice touch is to cut a piece off the plant, dry it and attach it to the card.
