Lucky bamboo

We could all do with some good luck

Dracaena lucky bamboo is also known as dracaena braunii, dracaena sanderiana or ribbon plant. Whatever you call this exotic houseplant, it guarantees a big helping of good luck!

Colours and shapes

Actually lucky bamboo is not a bamboo at all, but a member of the dragon tree family (Dracaeana). Lucky bamboo can be recognised by the classic bamboo looks with a bright green colour. Unlike real bamboo, this segmented plant is easy to keep indoors.

Symbolism

Lucky bamboo has symbolised success, wealth, good luck and health in Asia for centuries. That’s why the plant is a popular gift for family or friends. Give the plant to someone who could do with some good luck, or keep one for yourself. After all, you would welcome some extra luck as well, wouldn’t you?

Origin

The plant is native to the shaded tropical rainforests of Cameroon. This unique plant travelled to Europe from Central Africa. Lucky for us!
