Its noticeably regular branches means that Zamioculcas, Houseplant of the month for June, has a strong designer look. And a handmade pot is most suitable for it. This beauty with graphic surfaces references the geometric interiors trend, but the sober use of materials still respects the beauty of Zamioculcas. With this combination you will start the summer bang on trend and train your spatial awareness. Not geometrically inclined? Don't worry: the handy template will definitely enable you to make the pot!
What you need:
- 1 Zamioculcas in a small pot size
- Sturdy black cardboard
- Ruler, glue
- Scissors, sharp knife
- Plastic bag
- Black tape
- Sheets of pressed cork
How to make it:
Download the template for the pot here and save it as a PDF. Take the pot the size of your Zamioculcas as the starting point, and enlarge the PDF until it matches the pot size. Then print out the template.
Trace the template onto the black cardboard and cut it out along the edges. Fold over the edges of the template's 'arms' and stick them together so that they form a pot.
Cut the sides’ trapezium shape out of the cork and stick it on the sides. Fix a sturdy plastic bag inside the pot using black tape. Then place the Zamioculcas inside it. The plant's powerful appearance is reinforced by the lines of the pot, which combines very well with other graphic trend elements.
