DIY: Primula in a black and white jacket

A lovely contrast against the colourful flowers

Give the Primula, the cheerful Houseplant for February and also a welcome sign for spring, a cool black and white jacket. This is easy with this DIY tip in three steps.

This is what you need:

  • 3 Primulas

  • 3 waterproof terracotta pots

  • Wood glue (waterproof)

  • Brush

  • Scissors

  • A piece of fabric (in this instance black & white fabric from Ikea

This is how you make it

Step 1

Cut a piece of fabric which is a couple of centimetres wider than the height of the pot and two centimeters longer than the circumference. Brush the edge of the pot (inside and out) with wood glue and stick the fabric down.

Step 2

Because the pot is curved, you will need to cut incisions into the fabric. Brush the whole pot with glue and let the prints fold over each other. You can cut a corner of fabric away here and there so that not too much fabric folds over. Make sure that you glue the fabric properly onto the pot.

Step 3

Does the fabric look good? Cover the whole pot again once more with the glue – over the fabric. You do this to protect the fabric and to make the pot waterproof.

Let it dry, pop the Primulas in and enjoy!
