TIPS FOR A GREEN ROOF GARDEN

  • Perhaps the most important tip is simply to dare to start creating a green rooftop. Start small with some pot plants and climbing plants. By creating a seating area and adding some greenery, you can start to enjoy your space right away.
  • Choose your plants carefully, and take into account maintenance, growth and flowering time as well as where your garden is located. Lots of sun? Go for plants such as clay pear, lavender and climbing roses. Is there a lot of shade? Opt for plants such as columbine, ferns and thimbleweed.
  • Look around you for inspiration. Try browsing Pinterest, Instagram and magazines. By discovering what your style of exterior decoration is, you'll be able to create yourself a larger and more pleasant space to exist in.
  • Want to truly transform your rooftop into a green oasis? Enlist the help of an expert and ensure that you're following all government and council regulations when working on your rooftop garden. You may need a permit to carry out the work - check the planning permission guidelines in your area before getting started.

BENEFITS OF A ROOF GARDEN
