DIY: beautiful botanical hair clips

The sweet finishing touch to your summer outfit

You’ve got your mules ready, the summer dress is swishing but what do you do with your hair? Finish your outfit with a handmade floral hair clip, that’s what. Or better yet, build your outfit around it. Slide the clip into tumbling locks, a relaxed top-knot or funky ponytail. And don’t worry: you don’t need to water the flowers whilst you’re wearing them!

You will need

  • Hair clips
  • Green wire
  • Beautiful flowers

How to make the hair clips with flowers

Step 1: Arrange the flowers to suit. It’s easiest if you secure some of the stems on the left-hand side of the clip and some on the right-hand side.

Step 2: Secure the flowers by winding the wire around the stems and through the clip. Make it easier for yourself by doing this for 3 or 4 stems at a time rather than each individual stem.

Step 3: Twist the ends of the wire together.

Step 4: Trim the stems so they’re not visible.
