Instagrammer of the month

Where it all began

Founder Sophie Lee is the daughter of a florist and holds a fine art degree, specialising in geometric abstraction – so geo-fleur is the happy marriage of her two great passions: Mother Nature and modern design.

The seeds of the business were sown in October 2014 when Lee tried out a few of her favourite pieces at Christmas markets and fairs. The response was overwhelming, with demand constantly outstripping supply, so she started adding new lines and attending more fairs.

When, in April 2015, at the Renegade Craft Fair, Brick Lane, she sold the entire stock on the first day, she realised others shared her passion and decided to pursue her dream. A year on, geo-fleur is a flourishing multi-faceted business, and still growing.

Accessorise your plants

First and foremost, geo-fleur makes beautiful geometric homewares and plant accessories with a focus on design and a particular penchant for copper and concrete.

Their beautiful range of products can be ordered online, from their east London shop or by subscription (Plant Post Club: the perfect gift for style conscious friends).

From copper-dipped concrete pots and macramé hanging planters to mid-century-style wire plant stands and teardrop terrariums – this is high-fashion for houseplants.

Green-fingered stylists

The botanical stylists behind geo-fleur also specialise in bespoke events and styling projects, and can turn their hand at transforming any space, big or small, with stylishly and strategically placed greenery.

Whether it’s a restaurant, boutique, office, home, photo shoot or big event, geo-fleur will inject their unique style of botanical beauty into your project – including plants (to keep or hire) and plant care.

They’ve already racked up an impressive client list, including prestigious interiors mag Living Etc, ASOS, Liberty London and TATE.

Wild and wonderful workshops

But geo-fleur isn’t precious about its secrets. Keen to spread the word about the beauty of plants and their potential in the world of interior design, they offer a host of regular workshops on everything from terrariums, kokedama and macramé to living walls and staghorn fern. These are ideal if you want to take control of your own botanical styling, or you’re looking for a unique twist for a birthday or hen party.

Bigging-up Bonsai

Geo-fleur is also on a mission to bust the myth that bonsais are hard to care for. Their bonsai shop offers two sizes of tree pot (12cm and 15cm) in a choice of handmade ceramic or handmade concrete, and include a guide on how to look after your bonsai. Or if you want to become a bonsai master, you can sign up for a bonsai workshop.
